Last year, I was at the Cannacon in St. Paul, Minnesota, and I received a call from some guy at a publicity company. This happens at tradeshows because we are listed as media, and many companies seek extra promotion.

I found my way to the Cannatrol booth; they are drying and curing specialists. Their technology was initially used in the curing of cheese but also works perfectly for cannabis. Their product works by independently controlling both temperature and dew point. This gives precise control of vapor pressure in a space. When we control the vapor pressure, we control the product's water activity. Meaning - You stop over or under-drying.

Drying and curing have always been my weak points. I have a dehumidifier and a humidifier (depending on season), but dialing it in perfectly has proved impossible for me, especially in the winter: I love this product. It is so easy: cut, trim, load the machine, and press a button. Eight days later, you have a perfectly cured product.

But some things were weird. The day I trimmed and loaded the machine, the air was filled with the fresh smell of cut cannabis.

And it was pretty good and terpy. The following day, the smell was gone. It was just in my basement TV room. No special ventilation. You wouldn't know there was anything there at all.

Eight days later, I opened the machine like a child at Christmas.

The buds were perfect, but there was almost no smell. Did this machine ruin my weed? Gladly, the answer is no, or I wouldn't be writing this testimonial. The terps were locked in, awaiting to be released by the teeth of my grinder:

The small unit is affordable, and they custom build up to any size.
