Over 60% Higher Terpene Retention with Cool Cure
An independent, side-by-side grower test pitted the Cool Cure against a traditional hang dry and jar cure using the same plant. The lab numbers were not close.
A Vermont professional grower ran an independent side-by-side and saw dramatically better results when drying and curing in a Cool Cure versus a traditional hang dry and mason jar cure. The Cannatrol-controlled environment delivered more terpenes, more potency, and a better expression of the plant's genetics.
Side-by-side test setup
The grower carefully matched samples to keep the trial fair. Flowers were selected from the same area of the plant and split into two groups.
Traditional batch
Hang dried, then moved into mason jars and burped regularly.
Cool Cure batch
Stayed in a tightly controlled, closed-loop environment for the full dry and cure.
Cool Cure dry and cure profile
The Cool Cure run followed a precise, repeatable profile designed for optimal terpene and cannabinoid preservation.
Dry phase
5 days at 66°F with a 55°F dew point to slowly remove moisture while protecting volatile aromatic compounds.
Cure phase
25 additional days at 63°F with a 50°F dew point, allowing the flower to stabilize, complete chlorophyll breakdown, and reach ideal internal moisture without over-drying.
Terpene and potency results
The lab results from this side-by-side were striking.
The Cool Cure batch tested at 61% higher terpene levels compared to the traditional hang dry and jar cure from the same plant material.
Potency climbed too, with the Cool Cure sample showing roughly 20% higher cannabinoid levels, showing that tighter environmental control can preserve both aroma and active compounds.
Grower feedback
"I was floored by the results. I'm not easily swayed by things....and I was apprehensive to say the least. The Cannatrol crushed it."
